About Us

I am a native of the Rio Grande Valley, growing up in the Heart of Valley in the small town of Donna. After graduating from high school in 1990, I enrolled at Texas A&I (now Texas A&M Kingsville) and
graduated with BA in 1995. I met my future wife, Denise Marez, from Sinton, and we have been married since 1994. We are blessed in life with three children, and it’s been a joy watching all three
mature.

After graduation, we had the opportunity to start a home health company. From 1995 to 2018, we were part owners and operators of Corpus Christi Home Care, which at one point had three locations across Coastal Bend.

In 2019, after we sold the home health agency, I made to decision to go a different direction. I decided to enter the insurance industry, with my first venture being a national franchise. But I was searching for another way to deliver quality independent insurance products and services, so I sold my franchise book. In September 2022, the Reliant Insurance Group was founded.

The Reliant Insurance Group is here to listen to you the client about what concerns you in regards to insurance. But it’s also here to tell you why or why not you might need a specific insurance package and what the ramifications are if you are not insured. We are also here to try to work with your bottom line. To see if cost savings can be achieved by doing something like modifying a roof.

I enjoy traveling in my spare time, and our favorite nearby destination is the Texas Hill Country. In the fall, I enjoy spending my Friday nights following the Calallen Wildcats, where my last remaining child at home is a member of the award-winning marching band, and on Saturdays, the Texas Longhorns. On Sunday, I reserve that day to attend church and thank the Lord for all he has provided.

I am also a member of the BNI Downtown Business Professionals chapter based in Corpus Christi. And a board member of the Northwest Business Association which advocates for businesses in the Northwest part of Corpus Christ and Nueces County. I also enjoy supporting our local school booster clubs with my time whenever they request it.
